Stanley Joseph Landry Jennings: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church for Stanley Joseph Landry, 84 of Elton, LA on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 12:00 PM. Stanley will be laid to rest in Raymond/Hathaway Community Cemetery with Father Bill Miller officiating. Those chosen to honor Stanley as his pallbearers will be David Dequeant, Jr., Andy Tramel, Marshall Landry, Matthew Landry, Stanley Miller, Ryan Landry, and William Platt. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Monday, February 14th from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, February 15th at 8:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Mass. Stanley was born in Gueydan, LA on June 30, 1937, to Andy Landry and Leontine Vincent. Stanley passed away on February 11, 2022. Stanley worked for McManus Construction where he retired after many years; he was a longtime parishioner at St. Lawrence and member of Knights of Columbus. He loved the outdoors, duck hunting, cooking a meatball stew, and his coffee with friends. After retirement Stanley took joy in spending time with his friends, children, & especially his grandchildren, as well as looking forward to having family gatherings. Stanley was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Stanley is survived by his son, Michael Landry (Terry) of Jennings, LA; his daughters, Alise Miller of Jennings, LA, Cathy Dequeant (the late David Dequeant) of Elton, LA, Suzette Miller (Lynn) of Jennings, LA; his twelve grandchildren; his fifteen great-great grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Bourque of Gueydan, LA, Sherry Dugas (Larry) of Gueydan, LA; his son-in-law, Dorian Marsh; his daughter-in-law, Sandra Landry. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, Leontine & Andy Landry; his beloved wife, Mary “Mable” Landry; one son, Jonathan Landry; one daughter, Rhoda Marsh; one infant brother, James Landry; one sister, Rose Long and one grandson, Zachary Landry.
