Jennings: Mr. Robert Lee “Bobby” Cooper, 51, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Lafayette, LA following a brief illness. A native of Jennings, LA, born on June 13, 1970 to the late Horace Wayne Cooper and Patsy M. Cooper; he enlisted six years with the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service he began his career as an Avionics Engineer and loved his job working on F-18s and other aircrafts. He loved his country and was always sure to share his appreciation to other veterans he came across. Robert enjoyed volunteering his time with numerous community and sportsmanship organizations. He was a devoted and beloved little league baseball and football coach. He was generous and charitable, often making time to share his blessings with those less fortunate. Robert was an avid SAINTS fan, even in the bad years. He was an expert antique and treasure hunter, recreational diver and loved history and traveling. Bobby, much to his dismay and enjoyment of his family and friends, was a below average poker player. He was a master on the grill and in the kitchen and loved nothing more than cooking his boudin for everyone to enjoy while cheering on LSU. He was a gentle, kindhearted friend who will be deeply missed by those whom lives he touched. Above all his greatest joys came from time spent and memories made with family and friends. A true Patriarch, he went to the ends of the earth for his family. Bobby is survived by his wife of 30 years Crystal Parise Cooper; daughter Corrine Cooper and her fiancé William, of Arlington, TX; Cameron Cooper of Louisville, TX; his beloved service dog Maddie; 3 brothers Bud Cooper (the late Cathy), Billy Cooper (Angela), Jean Janice; his grandmother Zola Mae Cooper, of Jennings, LA; brother-in-law Victor Parise (Beth) and sister-in-law Gina Deutsch (Chuck); and his lifelong best friend Christopher Perdue (Cami); among numerous other relatives and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Patsy and Horace Wayne Cooper; one sister; In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Robert’s honor to https://acadianaanimalaid.org/give/ Honoring his wishes, cremation services took place. A Celebration of Life will be at the residence of his brother, Billy Cooper, on Thursday January 13th, 5pm. The address is 19584 Monnic Drive in Jennings. An Arlington-area celebration will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews & Son Funeral Home.
