Rita M. Miller Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rita M. Miller Jennings: A Mass of Christian burial for Rita M. Miller of Jennings, LA will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, LA on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM with Father Guilbeau officiating. Rita will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Those chosen to honor Rita as her pallbearers will be Jim Sonnier, Shannon Miller, Josh Miller, Jared Guilbeau, Adam Miller, & Zachary Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 10:00 AM and continue until the time of her Funeral Mass at 3:00 PM. Rita was born in Welsh, LA to Drew Ellender and Elia Benoit on January 18, 1934, and was called from her earthly life on October 6, 2021. She loved to dance, to cook, and to spend as much time as possible with her family making memories. She was a kind and loving soul who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rita is survived by her three children, Margaret Guilbeau (Randy) of Jennings, LA, Anthony Miller (Kathy) of Iowa, Roxanne Miller Bergeaux of Jennings, LA; her thirteen grandchildren, Brittney Sonnier (Jim), Jared Guilbeau (Krista), Joshua Miller (Felicia), Adam Miller (Bethany), Zachary Miller (Brooklyn), Christopher Cormier, Ayla Bettevy (Ryan), Malachi Anthony Bergeaux, Shelbi Bergeaux, Teri Miller, Brandon Miller, Shannon Miller (Delilah), Megan Miller; her twenty-six great grandchildren; her sister, Anita Degeteyer of Welsh, LA; her brothers, D.J. Ellender, & Henry Ellender of Sulphur, LA; her beloved fur baby, Bullet; her special friend & nurse, Amy. Rita now rejoices in heaven with her parents, Elia & Drew Ellender; her husband, Adam T. Miller; her son, Adam Joseph “A.J.” Miller; her daughter, Danette Miller; her grandson, Travis Wade Miller.
