Elzie “Chris” Eldridge Gueydan: Elzie “Chris” was born on June 2, 1952, to Elza Eldridge and Hazel Hughes and was called to his Heavenly father on February 2, 2022. He served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as a member of Parkview Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, Louisiana for over 30 years as a Deacon and as a committee member, and he also served as a Gideon. He was an independent agent with Primerica Financial Services, which he loved. He was a very knowledgeable person, who knew the answer to any question you asked him. Elzie loved talking with everyone he would meet and always had a smile on his face. He was a loving husband to Maudrie and they made wonderful memories together throughout their life. Elzie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Elzie “Chris” is survived by his wife, Maudrie Monceaux Eldridge of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Robert Eldridge; two sisters, Helen Eldridge & Oneida Eldridge; his two brothers-in-law, Ronald & Coston Monceaux; his sister-in-law, Linda Cormier; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Elzie “Chris” is preceded in death by his parents, Elza & Hazel Eldridge; one brother, John Eldridge; one sister, Sue McFerren. Funeral services for Elzie “Chris” Eldridge, 69 of Baton Rouge, LA will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 2:00 PM. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Hanks Cemetery.
