Gueydan: The family and friends of Agnes C. Wilson are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on December 19, 2020, at the age of 92. Agnes was born in Gueydan, LA to Martial Cormier and Alta Touchet Cormier on June 1, 1928. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Agnes enjoyed crafts and gardening. She, above all, loved her family and cherished the time she was able to spend with them. Agnes will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Agnes is survived by her son, Lorphea (Mona) Broussard of Kaplan, LA; daughters, Joyce W. (Gary) Gaspard of Maurice, LA and Vicki W. (Bill) Welch of Sulphur, LA; grandchildren, Mindy (Michael) Mitchell, Shelly (Scotty) Lepretre, Jason (Kayla) Gaspard, Jessica Gaspard, and Lori Beth Meaux; and eight great-grandchildren. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Tommy” Wilson; parents, Martial and Alta T. Cormier; stepfather, Verdis “DD” Touchet; brother, Lorphea Cormier; and sisters, Gladys (Junius) Fontenot, Delta (Hervey) Morvant, Wanda (Oris) Lougon, and Mary (Wilsey) Hebert. Funeral Service for Agnes C. Wilson will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Gueydan, LA on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 3:00 PM with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating. Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 22nd from 9:00 AM until the time of her Funeral Service with a Rosary recited at 1:00 PM. Reading will be by Madison Lepretre. Agnes will be laid to rest in Gueydan Cemetery. Carrying Agnes to her final resting place will be Lance Herpin, Laine Herpin, Hunter Lepretre, Jason Gaspard, Braydon Gaspard, and Nicholas Lepretre.
